Our client in the Western Suburbs is currently seeking a Sr. Retail Technology Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience for a full time position. This candidate should also have leadership capabilities. This individual will serve on the Retail Technology Team, responsible for the support of all hardware and software utilized within the store environment. He or she will work with the Applications Development Teams on requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, support and documentation functions for store applications. Leadership skills should have the ability to communicate effectively with technical staff in an upbeat environment.

Essential Responsibilities

*Assists in the technical design and support for designated software technologies such as SAP s Triversity Point-Of-Sale (POS) and Shortcuts.
*Acts as liaison to IT and business to gather requirements for software enhancements and upgrades.
*Recommends, develops, and tests new technology and develops solutions, documentation for store environment.
*Works closely with the business and IT to develop cost effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex requirements.
*Develops project cost and benefit estimates to establish project worth; including alternative considerations leading to recommendations for new systems or change to existing ones.
*Recommends and designs new technologies and solutions, including hardware and software, and provides documentation for store projects.
*Responsible for delivering assignments within specified time frames, adhering to all established standards and guidelines individually or as a member of a project team.
*Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, on development, enhancements and upgrades to store environment. Manages these vendors in troubleshooting situations.
*Negotiates pricing, terms and conditions and technical requirements with vendors.
*Assess complex technical problems to develop, appraise and recommend solutions.
*Evaluate new technologies to solve business requirements.
*Responsible for 24 x 7 support for designated application and infrastructure area.

Job Requirements

*Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related discipline or equivalent experience required.
*Minimum 7 years of IT experience.
*Knowledge of MS-SQL 2000/2005, Windows XP/Windows 2000-2003, Windows Mobile, MS Office 2007, Windows Scripting (batch, command, pstools/sysinternals)
*Avalanche experience a plus.
*Experience managing projects.
*Demonstrated problem solving and communication skills while developing collaborative relationships.
*Requires good oral and written communication skills to interact with both, internal and external customers
*Must be a high energy team player with a positive working attitude and posses good documentation skills
