Qualifications:

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Conduct psychiatric assessments and establish diagnoses.

Prescribe appropriate treatment plans and prescribe therapy, psychotherapy, or rehabilitation programs.

Maintain records of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis according to Joint Commission of Accredited Hospitals Organization standards and other regulatory agencies.

Perform related duties as assigned.


Knowledge of:

Current developments, trends and research in the field of medicine and psychiatry.

Basic understanding of clinical supervisory principles and practices.

Pharmacology and psychopharmacology including laws regarding informed consent, dosage ranges, drug incompatibilities, and side effects.

Proper documentation of clinical services.

Treatment approaches and differential diagnoses of the mentally ill.

HIPAA regulations.

Medical ethics.


Education and Experience:

Board Certification or completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.
