Prestigious Enterprise Company, located in the far western suburbs of Chicago, is currently seeking a Linux Application Developer and Systems Analyst. will develop, integrate, commission, assist operations, and support Middleware solutions for provisioning resources, scheduling access, validating environment viability, and appropriating resources for computing and storage in a highly distributed environment.



Summary of Responsibilities

Candidate formulates and defines system scope and objectives, and participates as high level technical expert in design, development, coding, testing and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Works with Technical staff to understand problems with software and develops specifications to resolve them.


Minimum Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree preferred with 3+years of working experience.

Preferred Qualification Requirements

Experience with software development and integration on Unix/Linux platforms;

Good knowledge of C/C++ or Java and at least one of the following Scripting languages: python, Perl, or Unix Shell;

Working experience of python is highly desirable;

Experience with the development of resource management systems, preferably of storage or computing resources;

Practical knowledge of the security principles of highly distributed systems;

Experience with integration, testing, and troubleshooting of highly distributed systems;

Demonstrated ability to work closely with customers;

Demonstrated ability to work independently and with only general directions from a supervisor

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Experience with development/integration and/or operations/support of large distributed storage infrastructures is highly desirable;

Experience with virtual environments and/or cloud computing is highly desirable;

Experience in supporting production services, ideally within an ITIL infrastructure is desirable;

Experience with operating or administering large systems is desirable;

Experience in the management of small projects, including project management tools and processes, is desirable

Familiarity with Grid Middleware Systems, such as Condor or the Globus Toolkit, is a plus.
