**This is a contract-to-hire position so we are not accepting 3rd party candidates.**


A client of TEKsystems is seeking a Technical Java Architect to join their team for a contract-to-hire position.


This person will be responsible for analysis, design and development of applications and use cases within the framework of the current application and enterprise frameworks. This person will lead a team of developers in distributed locations. Manage business partner relationships, consult and proactively develop solutions that meet both tactical and strategic needs of the client, technology and business teams.


Knowledge of Java, WebLogic application servers, Oracle database and PL/SQL, UNIX scripting languages, java scripting, DOJO, Struts. Experience in portal technologies, Spring framework, web services and SOA would be a plus. Knowledge of full software development lifecycle. Knowledge of UML, Database modeling techniques. Analytical and problem solving skills. Must show a strong interest in working with business teams to deliver sustainable solutions that best meets needs of client within the constraint matrix. A positive goal orientated attitude with a focus on delivery.


Major Duties:


- Design detail technical solutions using best available technology

- Consult with business partners on requirements, organize and synthesize to technical requirements and designs

- Work other architects, designers and framework groups on best solution for business and IT

- Design and Develop components as defined above

- Ensure code meets standards and tested appropriate to the platform

- Communicate status (written and verbal) to project team and management


Required Experience:


- 7-10+ years of experience in the IT industry

- 2+ years experience as an Architect or Tech Lead role

- 5 years experience working in Java based platforms

- 3 years experience working with relational databases

- Experience in service based architectures would be considered a plus
