Description



General Description: Responsible for support of desktop and server computers, applications support, network services, and system administration.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

*Implement and administer Servers and network devices
*SAN storage, switches, hubs, routers, UPS.
*Integrate platforms (OS, Linux) with different technologies (membership database, firewalls, backups, email, and web).
*Configure servers-maintain documentation on server and network configuration.
*Manage network services, including firewalls, name Servers (BIND), A ctive Directory user accounts.
*Maintain security of network with a variety of tools, including virus, malware, and spam protection on the mail server, intrusion detection systems on the internal network and monitor server and Firewall logs.
*Desktop Computers-Configure and install hardware and software, ensure operating systems patches and Anti-Virus software are current and troubleshoot technology problems for staff and members. Maintain and fix printers.
*Backup System-Monitor backup system for errors
*Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisor

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

*Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
*Minimum 5 years systems administration experience.
*Expert level knowledge of networking protocols and services including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, VPN
*Significant experience managing Web Servers and services, including Apache, Tomcat, and Drupal.
*Hands-on experience with Microsoft server operating systems, and network services including Active Directory and Exchange.
*Hands-on experience with VMware ESX server or other virtualization technologies.
*Expert knowledge of Linux (Red Hat/Fedora or OpenSUSE preferred).
*Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL, Checkpoint FW-1, , Sendmail, Symantec BackupExec, and Mailman.
*A self learner with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
