Job description:

We are currently seeking to add a Performance Engineer to the 7ticks team. The Performance Engineer will be responsible for analysis and overall system performance improvement recommendations. The ideal candidate would have solid data analytic skills with technology competencies in application management/development (60%) and systems/network architecture (40%).

Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the Performance Engineer will include:

*Administer and manage 3rd party packaged software that focuses on data latency performance
*Troubleshoot client performance/latency issues
*Analyze network and application data to present trends, pattern, reports for strategic discussions and performance improvement recommendations.
*Provide performance insights based on market data and order performance data
* Lead designer for performance data analysis capabilities
*Work with vendor on 3rd party application features/function enhancements
*Custom, supplemental applications/tools
*Help develop supplemental (custom) latency performance applications/tools
*Lead protocol analysis/decode (eg FIX, ITCH, OUCH, OMX, LIFFE, FAST, proprietary, etc)
*Work with 7ticks management to produce customer facing analysis reports and comparisons
*Help design, test, troubleshoot, recommend, and implement network performance enhancements
*Integrate performance monitoring and 3rd party application with Production Support team/daily operations
*Document information, process, and data helpful to team members and clients
*Provide customer technical support and escalations as necessary
*Understand, prioritize and drive resolution of issues through hands-on involvement and highly effective communication between responsible parties at the client site and management.

Qualifications:

Must Have:

*Excellent hands on experience of understanding Network, system, multi-tier problems and resolving them
*Solid working knowledge of.NIX Operating Sytems
*Experience with any or all of the following: Netscout, Wireshark, Sniffer Pro/Network General, Endace, Correlix, Corvil or other similar tools
*Application development experience with solid understanding of application arch include database , data collection, and data integration APIs
*Expert data analysis and trend capabilities
*Strong understanding of Linux and or Windows Server Systems
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Able to work on a team or in an individual setting

*Product feature and function design
*Multicast in a switched/routed network
*VRF design and implementation
*BGP and OSPF protocols
*Packet and flow analysis
*Trading industry experience
