DescriptionOracle DBA Job Description:

TEKsystems is working with a leading client in the area that is in need of an experienced Oracle Database Administrator. This is an exciting 3 month plus consulting engagement.


Our client is looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to help provide day to day administration on their Oracle RAC 9.2 system. Their current databases sit on IBM hardware running AIX OS. These databases range in size from 300-750 GB's. Our client also utilizes RMAN and DB Artisan.


Day to Day responsibilities:


- Performance Tuning, backup recovery

- Manage backup using RMAN

- Exporting and Importing Data

- Database Replication

- CPU Critical Patch Updates

- Database Capacity Planning

- Production and DR Support

- Database Installation and Support


The ideal candidate will come from a structured environment with pre-determined procedures, guidelines and processes. Any command line experience would be very beneficial. SOX experience would be a plus. Any experience working on upgrades, specifically from Oracle 9 to 10g, would be ideal.
