Prestigious Financials Institution, located in the Chicago Loop, is currently seeking a Java Developer with strong Front End, GUI, and Swing skills. Candidate will design, develop and support application software for one or more business functions of Company. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven skills in problem solving, requirements and analysis.


Responsibilities include:

Work closely with Management, Architects, and other teams developing and enhancing systems to meet new business and technical requirements.

Lead project development team in design, development, and implementation of client applications.

Provide accurate work estimates and report progress to management.

Mentor junior members of the team, ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures and development standards.

Analyze and recommend technologies and tools to improve efficiency and quality of the development process.

Provide support to Client applications in Production and Assurance environments.

Provide status to Client Development Manager.


Requirements:

Extensive knowledge (4-6 years) of Information Technology

Experience in object-oriented analysis and design

2+ years of GUI application development experience using Java and Swing

Experience in mentoring and training staff

Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing on a business and technical level

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
