A client of ours is looking for a Biostatistician in the Chicago, Illinois area.


The Biostatistician is responsible for assisting in the design, programming, and execution of trial protocols and statistical analysis plans. Interface with clinical and non-clinical departments to establish statistical scope of work. Interface with Data Management to review databases, schedules, and database transfers. Work independently and within a team environment.


Major job duties and responsibilities:

- Assist with providing statistical input for protocols including study design, sample size estimates, and production output requirements.

- Assist in the development and review of statistical analysis plans and other applicable study documents based on study specific documents and sound statistical methodology.

- Develop, maintain, and produce statistical programs and specifications used in creating analysis datasets, tables, listings, and figures.

- Provide statistical analysis and interpretation of final study data and input to final study report that meet current regulatory standards and requirements.

- Participates in the data system design, utilization, and maintenance to maintain conformance with applicable regulatory guidelines and standard operating procedures.

- Conduct professional research to improve upon statistical methodologies utilized in the Company environment.

- Assist with audits of study databases.

- Develop and revise standard procedures, systems and conventions for the biostats area.

- 70% Biostatistician and 30% Programming.


Job requirements and qualifications:

- Candidates must have a Masters degree (M.A., M.S.) in statistics or biostatistics with a minimum of three years related clinical research experience.

- Experience working at a Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or CRO.

- Study design experience.

- 1+ years experience as a Biostatistician.
