Description




Duties:



* Responsible for stability, integrity and operation of in-house Unix systems

* Plan, design, install, configure and optimize systems such as DNS, FTP, web, database and development platforms

* Resolve and troubleshoot issues, prioritize projects and meet deadlines

* Provide level 3 support

* Devise methodologies for monitoring and testing system performance

* Design backup procedures, Patch and Security management methodology and review releases

* Automate system maintenance tasks with Shell Scripts

* Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for systems

* Research emerging products, services and protocols

* Cisco administration including switches, routers, firewalls and VPN




Requirements:



* Expertise with Unix including Solaris, AIX, HP/UX and Linux

* Excellent server hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting experience

* Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, DNS

* Some Scripting experience

* Knowledge of backup/recovery procedures - Veritas NetBackup

* Working knowledge of Cisco

* Application support experience with Oracle and Rational ClearCase a plus

* Strong knowledge of System Security and authentication methodologies

* BS Degree

* Excellent communication and decision-making skills

* Knowledge of IT Governance and compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley) a plus

* CISSP certification a plus
