The Marketing Application Development Manager's role is to facilitate and oversee all activities related to the development and implementation of rich media related to the university's online enrollment marketing strategy and website design and development. This position is also responsible for overseeing maintenance and support of necessary systems and applications to be used for the development of rich media.

Specific responsibilities will include: Oversee the collaboration, planning and execution of NLU web site design and navigation, layout and user experience including graphics, video, audio, hierarchy, architecture and final copy content; Coordinate with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to seamlessly integrate applications with existing infrastructure; Oversee the collaboration, production, implementation and storage of electronic marketing materials for the web, outdoor and digital transit; Oversee the production, implementation and storage of multimedia assets such as video, motion graphics and audio recordings; Contribute to the maintenance, facilitation and analysis of our online paid search campaign. Work with OIT to maintain correct web page tags for data gathering; Create and maintain social networking sites; Review google analytics data and report on success rates of online advertising; Create presentations for NLU and outside communities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The ability to give presentations in front of a large audience, juggle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict media and internal marketing deadlines. Ability to think quickly, make accurate decisions, work independently, work with other departments withing the NLU community (particularly OIT) as well as work in a collaborative creative environment. Must be detail oriented. Must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must have extremely strong time management skills and the ability to manage a large production schedule of rich media projects independently as well as with others working in the rich media environment withing the marketing department. Must have experience and knowledge in html, css, and javascript (coding by hand, with standards compliance), javascript frameworks (jQuery, prototype, YUI, etc), ColdFusion, or strong experience with similar (php, asp, jsp, python, etc), Actionscript 2/3, Database design and SQL query writing, Working knowledge of content management systems such as CommonSpot, Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress, Photoshop (or Fireworks), Illustrator, Flash CS3/CS4; Strong design skills and sensibilities, including layouts, animation, typography, and copywriting; Knowledge of video/sound processing for the web, Knowledge of video/sound editing, preferably in Final Cut Studio, Mac OS X; Ability to work in unix environment, ability to use shell preferred; Ability to work in Windows environment; Adobe Creative Suite, Web Design Premium; Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator; Adobe After Effects; Final Cut Studio; QuarkXPress; Panic Coda; Panic Transmit, fetch or cyberduck (ftp); ColdFusion 8 Developer Edition; Mac OSX Latest (with Web Services running); Windows Latest (with Microsoft Access and necessary browsers for testing); VMWare Fusion (to access Windows from OSX); Omni Graffle Pro; Microsoft Office; VPN and SvnX (free) or similar subversion client. Requires a bachelor's degree. Master's degree is preferred. At least five years of professional experience with web development and digital asset management is required.
