MAPEI Corp., the leading manufacturer of chemical products for floor installation seeks a degreed (BSME/BSEE)Plant Engineer(Manager)for ourWEST CHICAGO, ILlocation to:
1) Lead a Maintenance Manager and 15+ indirect Maintenance Technicians;
2) Plan, organize, develop, coordinate and control design, construction, modification and maintenance of equipment / machinery and cap-x projects in an industrial plant. Must have proven small to mid-size capital project management achievements, strong exposure to EH&S programs, CMMS, maintenance program management, and 24/5 or 7 multi-shift operation support. Mechanical / electrical experience in a chemical or industrial ISO9000/ISO14001 setting required.

Requirements/Skills:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Minimum 10 years’ progressive management experience in Plant Maintenance and Engineering in a heavy industrial / process environment.
* Experience in Automated material processing, material handling, conveyor systems, automated packaging, Chemical Processing and Controls.
* Interface with Corporate Engineering and assist in implementing Capital Projects.
* Plan, develop, and implement small to medium size capital and major maintenance projects including equipment and process modifications, replacements and overhauls.
* Develop and control plant maintenance and capital budgets.
* Direct activities of one Maintenance Manager and 16+ technicians for continuous improvement and optimization of plant and equipment to meet customer requirements.
* Ensure continuous and safe operation of plant facilities and machinery by efficient utilization of World Class maintenance techniques.
* Thorough knowledge of CMMS systems, Planning, PM, PdM, and Stores Control required.
* Promote teamwork at all levels of the Company.
* Manage contractors (design, engineering, labor, construction, etc.) and/or lead other engineers and technicians as assigned.
* Interpret manual and computer generated reports
* Interview, hire and train employees;
* Plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
* Establish standards and policies for pollution control, installation, modification, testing, inspection and maintenance of equipment and oversees maintenance and security of plant building.
* Direct maintenance of plant building and coordinate requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery that promote efficient and safe plant operations,
* Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and company policies, procedures and work instructions.
* Manage and control the inventory of maintenance parts and equipment per corporate procedures and work instructions.
* Develop and implement capital projects to correct deficiencies, improve efficiency, increase output, support new products and reduce cost.
* Oversee preparation of bids and participate in awarding contracts for outside services and acquisitions.
* Ensure the effective supervision of contractor employees while on plant premises.
* Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
Education/Certificaiton:
* Bachelor degree (BSME/BSEE) required.
* Valid Drivers License
* Strong Proficiency in CMMS
* Professional background in ISO9001
