1968 Mercury Cougar

This 68 Cougar was purchased and shipped in from Denver CO. last year as a Father & Son project. It had original paint and a vinyl top that was removed. The guys had the carburetor rebuilt, gave it a tune-up, new brakes all around, new raised white letter Super Sport Futura GLS Tires, shocks, struts and a nice rumble sounding dual exhaust. The interior needs work, the seat have tares, The dash pad was replaced some time ago, probably because they use to warp real bad, but this one looks good and was told this dash was from a 1967 Cougar. The carpet is surprisingly still like new, just showing a little fading. The driver’s door wouldn’t lock, so they took the left side panels off and couldn’t get them back on. The headliner has some tares and needs to be retucked in the back sail panels. They said the body was solid but the paint was faded and had some light surface rust so the son took the car to a friends place and repainted the car to the nugget gold metallic with clear coat, which looks beautiful, but up close you can see they missed wet sanding it in a lot of areas, especially where the vinyl top was. The pictures so not show it. The car has bucket seats and floor shifter, hideaway headlights, V-8 302 which they were told was original to the car with C4 automatic transmission that runs & drives great. The floors are solid and the car shows 52K miles on her. Father & Son has moved onto an old truck project and would like to offer this sporty desirable collector car for someone to finish and enjoy for themselves.
