Description
We’re a fast growing company conveniently located in the Western Suburbs and we have an immediate need for an Accountant with a Merchant Services and Credit Card Processing background. We are seeking experienced accounting professional with expertise in Merchant Services and Credit Card processing. This position will support electronic payment processing, ACH, EFT, merchant services activities, and new initiatives supporting members other business partners. They will also develop electronic payments strategic plan and determine goals for electronic payments, in addition to managing the effectiveness of existing payment channels and processing enhancements, develop strategic plans and make recommendations to management. Addition duties and responsibilities are as follows:
* Manage the development, maintenance, and continual evaluation of the effectiveness of electronic payment processing and reporting, provide recommendations and implement changes.
* Manage and forecast cost of electronic payments with 3rd Party Vendors, Banks, and other financial institutions. Identify ways to decrease the cost of electronic payments, make recommendations.
* Manage vendor relationships. Manage the relationship and activities with Correspondent Banks.
* Collaborate with, E-Business, Business Technology, Marketing, Legal, and other business units to develop and maintain an electronic payment strategy. Manage all developments, policy and procedure changes applicable to electronic payments to guarantee electronic payment processing is within electronic payment regulatory agencies operation and processing guidelines.
* Identify and work with systems to correct system problems. Define for systems, enhancements required to improve service levels and develop program to meet service level expectations.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have an excellent background with a proven and verifiable track record. Ability to efficiently organize, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines within a flexible and changing environment. A high level of accuracy and attention to details are essential for this position. A willingness to take a challenge and work hard to have tasks done on time and correctly is required. Additional required experience is as follows:
* 4 year Accounting degree preferred
* Minimum 5 years of electronic payment processing experience within the banking/financial industry.
* Credit card industry experience. Knowledge of gateways, discount rates, and chargeback resolution is required.
* Experience with electronic payment processing, ACH, EFT, and Merchant services activities.
* Proficient with QuickBooks
* Strong communication skills
* Must be very proficient in Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs.
* International experience a plus
