Under the general direction of the College President, the Vice-President for Student Development is the Chief Student Affairs Officer responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of all student development programs and services. The Vice President directly supervises three deans and two directors, and is responsible for Admissions, Records and Registration; Financial Aid; Counseling and Career Development; Academic Advising and Articulation; New Student Retention; Minority Student Transfer Center; Student Life and Judicial Affairs; Job Resource Center; International Student Affairs; Employment Prep; Center for Disability Services; Recruitment and Athletics. The Vice President implements programs to promote new student retention and design of co-curricular programming, including student leadership, intercollegiate athletics, student clubs, organizations, programming and events.


Minimum of a Master's degree and current enrollment in a doctoral program at an accredited institution of higher education. Degree should be completed within one year of start date; progressive and related administrative experience directly reporting to a senior-level; demonstrated leadership ability in higher education; collegial management style, willingness to be part of a team, and ability to establish direction and create a collective vision within the division; excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with students, faculty, staff, and community members in a personable and professional manner; demonstrated experience in working with a diverse and complex student population, combined with a commitment to multiculturalism; strong organization skills and ability to coordinate and advance various priorities involving multiple staff members.


The Vice President of Student Development will supervise the members of the Student Development Leadership Team who collaboratively design, implement and evaluate all Student Development programs and services; prepare and administer an annual budget of approximately $5 million; collaborate with the President to inform and advise the Board of Trustees; develop strategic priorities, annual goals and objectives for the division; assess the impact of student development initiatives, including determination of student learning and documentation of institutional impact; collaborate with members of the Executive Leadership Team to insure that Student Development initiatives and activities are integrated and coordinated with the other divisions of the college' develop procedures to implement the Code of Student Conduct, insure student due process and design procedures for students to express concern; provide procedural direction and oversight to student life offices and programs; develop and implement options to encourage the professional development of Student Development faculty and staff members.


Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:15 pm. The salary for this position is highly competitive and is coupled with a very strong executive-level benefit package.
