The Vice President of Academic Affairs is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and advance lifelong learning. The Vice President is accountable for providing academic leadership and supervision of the college's instructional programs and services. This key member of the senior administration of the college fosters strong relationships within the campus communities, external agencies and is committed to the mission of the community college. The Vice President of Academic Affairs reports directly to the President.
An earned doctorate; significant teaching experience within an institution of higher education; successful and increased responsibility in academic administration, preferably at a community college level; demonstrated experience and commitment to learning-center concepts; a proven record of academic leadership competency and demonstrated evidence of a vision for academic affairs, organizational and management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a keen commitment to the role of the community college in higher education.
The Vice President will initiate and modify curriculum in the areas of transfer, occupational/technical, development programs, and community and continuing education; provide leadership in the selection, evaluation, and promotion of academic staff; prepare innovative and dynamic leadership in promoting linkages between Moraine Valley, business and industry, and governmental agencies; work with the Center of Teaching and Learning to provide faculty development opportunities both in education and in cooperation with the private sector; work with students, staff, other community colleges, and private agencies to provide future direction for the procurement and optimal use of available resources; continue learning-centered initiatives, further advancing teaching and learning at our college.
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:15 pm. The salary for this position is highly competitive and is coupled with a very strong executive-level benefit package.
