A worldwide market and derivates trading firm is looking for an upbeat talented and result-driven Linux Support Application Engineer. The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a trading capacity. This organization takes pride in offering their employees a challenging career and cutting edge work environment. Registered with the SEC as of broker-dealer and participates in trading on various US securities and commodities exchanges. In this role, the candidate will report into the Windows Team Leader and work out of Chicago .

Responsibilities



* Learn and understand the trading applications in order to identify and resolve trading problems both on the Front End and back-end.

* Actively improve the performance and availability of trading applications and the systems they run on

* Drive innovation with specialized technical teams, Troubleshoot connectivity issues, packet analysis.


Requirements

* At least 3 years experience working extensively with Linux systems

* Experience optimizing, analyzing and supporting mission critical applications

* Scripting experience such as Perl, Shell, etc.

* A proactive customer focused attitude

* Networking knowledge

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative, hands-on environment

* Strong interest in the Financial Services industry

* Computer Science degree or similar experience
